Sunday Night Softball

May 21, 2008 at 10:38 pm (Softball)

I have really enjoyed watching softball. My dad is on a team with my church. My dad is actually the coach. There is a men’s team and a coed team. I was all excited to go and watch everyone play. I showed up to watch and I got told that I was going to have to play on the coed team. I didn’t believe them when they told me this. I was wearing flip-flops and I looked all cute, not ready for playing softball. One of the rules is that you must have shoes that completely cover your feet.

My dad made me play. My mom was trying to get him not to let me play because she did not want me to play in only flip flops. So I had to wear my brothers shoes with NO socks. How gross is that. I have never played before. I don’t know how to play, but hey I gave it a shot. I had a blast. I think that I will keep playing on the team if they need me. I was the catcher the whole time. I did alright for being my first time. I wish I did better. One time that I got up to bat, I was standing to far behind the base to bat. I was holding the bat wrong so finally the catcher came and helped me. She picked me up and put me in the place that I should be in. It was really funny. I felt like a big dork. The next time that I batted, I hit the ball really far for being me and make it to first base. How exciting is that? I really wanted to impress a couple people this game and I didn’t feel like I did. Oh well I will try again sometime soon.

I really enjoyed playing. So I suggest that you give stuff a shot even If you don’t think that you will do very well. You just might surprise yourself. Because I really did surprise myself. Hopefully I will get better and be on a team. This summer my sister comes back and she wants to play on a team with me. I bet she will laugh at me.
