Oh Goodness

April 29, 2008 at 5:27 pm (Life, Uncategorized)

Friday: I have been a little crazy lately. Let me tell you about my weekend. Friday morning I got up early to get dinner started, then went off to work from eight to five at solid rock. It was the last day and I work in the office, so I have to stay later than everyone else. I got a lot of gifts from the students. That made me happy. Then I went home and finished making dinner because Ben and Holly were coming over. I had a great time with them. After they left, my mom and I hung out for a little and just talked with each other. I love my mommy.

Saturday: I rested a lot. Friday was a long day. In the afternoon, we meaning Hosh and I hung out and played risk. It was a great day. Then I went to church that night.

Sunday: I went shopping for food because I am the cook around here. I helped clean the house and watch the little kids. Hosh came over and we played football. I am not very good at it, but it was fun. I had put homework off all weekend and I really didn’t want to do it. It was eight o’clock Sunday night and I guess I needed to start it. I didn’t have very much to do. I am so ready for school to be over.

It might not seem like I am always working hard, but I really am.

Missions Trip

April 19, 2008 at 12:02 am (Blessed, Church, Life)

So my youth group is going to go to Belize this summer. I was planning to go. I was very excited because I only have been on one other mission trip before and I really wanted to go. I felt God say you’re going to go.

The last missions trip that I was on was in El Salvador. I just loved it there. I loved working in the orphanages. That’s what we did most of the time when we weren’t doing dramas. I didn’t really like doing the dramas.

It turned out that Belize wasn’t going to work out. So they decided that they needed to pick a new place. I would have never thought that they would go to El Salvador, but that’s what they picked. I am so happy. God knew that I really want to go back there. We watched a video of the trip that I took to El Salvador a couple of years ago and I saw people that I talked to. It made me so happy! I couldn’t believe that I get to go back.

My favorite part of working in the orphanages was just spending time with all the kids.

Girls Retreat

April 13, 2008 at 5:39 am (Friends)

Worship was amazing! Sean Brage lead worship for us girls. Worship is my favorite thing to do. Sean did one of my favorites too. It was “ Oh, how he loves us.” I really got to just seek God and get on my knees. There was lots of crying. Girls were praying for other girls. It was awesome. Thank you so much Sean for leading us into the presence of God.

Friday night after worship they picked five girls who they wanted to give encouragement to and let them know that they are truly loved. After a girl was picked, she would go up and set on a bench and anyone could come and bless them or tell them how much they mean to them. I was one of those girls. I had five people come and talk to me. I cried so much. It meant to so much to me that they would do something like this. Then they gave me a necklace. I absolutely love it and will wear it all the time.

Rap groups were amazing. My leaders were Bri and Chrissie. I loved all the girls in my group. We really got to open up with each other. The last rap group we had everyone prayed for each other. At the end our leaders gave us presents. They gave us a CD, a box of candy and a journal. Bri asked if I liked her purse and I said “Yes,I love it!” and she just gave it to me. I didn’t ask, she just gave it to me. I am so blessed. Oh Boy was I Happy. I had really been wanting a purse like this one too, but they cost a lot of money.

The castle was BEAUTIFUL. We went to Glen Erie in Colorado Springs. A lot of the girls got to roam around in it during free time. We would try and find places people have never been. We went and found a place where we could get on the top of it. Oh ya, thats what I really wanted to do. We got to the top after climbing up lots of ladders to get to it. After looking around and having fun up there we had to get down because we had places to be.

A little later, we wanted Hosh to come and take pictures of us up there. So I ran to get Hosh because we had so little time. I got back and we went up there and got lots of pictures. I don’t know if they look good but hey. I was the first one to get down and some guy that worked there came and talked with me and asked me to get down and not go up there again. Lol so I thought that was the end of it. Oh I was wrong. While I was walking to where I had to be, he came up to me and lectured me on how they didn’t want people climbing the castle. He told me to tell everyone in my group NOT to get up there again. I said alright I will tell them and walked off. Even though they DON’T have any signs saying DON’T CLIMB THE CASTLE. Oh, I didn’t get upset because it’s their fault for not putting any signs up in the first place.

I have never been to such on AWESEOME retreat. Holly is an amazing girl. She is the best youth pastors wife ever.

Here are some pictures! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Rude People

April 10, 2008 at 12:55 pm (Frustrated)

Have you ever felt like you have done some really good? Something that God told you to do and it was really hard, but you still did it? You accomplished it. Then you talk about it with people you think you can trust. You tell them how excited you are about it.

Then surprisingly, all they did was condemn you. That really hurts. Its frustrating when someone says, “why don’t you just pat your back because you’re so good or something dumb like that.” Ya, that happened to me and it really makes me mad.

Why can’t you talk about things God does in your life without people condemning you or being rude?

House Versus Home

April 9, 2008 at 4:53 am (Life)

You would probably think as both of them as place where you keep all you stuff or where you sleep at night or maybe where you can have parties. My brother was talking the other night about Home versus House. I thought that what he said was very cool. I have really been thinking about it.

House is here on earth. It’s where you sleep, eat, play, goof off, date and where you can tell people about God. You get to fulfill the mission that you have here on earth. It means learning to be thankful for what God did on the cross.

I love our house. I love the environment. It is so welcoming. It is always full of loud noises, people and activity. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

Home is where you will live eternally. A place called heaven.  It’s where there will be rest and peace. There will be no fear of rejection or fear of anything. It means not having to make sure the house is clean,  or making sure you’re at work on time. Heaven is a wonderful place.

As much as I love my house here on earth, I can’t wait to be in my home in heaven.

I don’t like birds

April 6, 2008 at 6:19 pm (Animals)

A bird came into our house yesturday while I was doing homework. My mom went running downstairs to wake my brother and his friend up to have them get the bird out. I have NEVER seen my mom run so fast. Lol. It was very stressful. I had so much homework to get done and I couldn’t get it done because Daniel and his friend were being obnoxious and very loud. His friend could not stop talking about how they could kill the bird and eat it. I was very stressed and getting upset with my brother.

After swinging the broom at the bird and thinking that Daniel almost killed the bird, and yelling at the boys and telling them to stop, finally, I gave in and I let my brother get a box. Daniel trapped the bird and took him outside.

The bird lived happily ever after but I didn’t finish my homework. Do you think my teacher will accept this as an excuse?
